Career path

Born in the Jura region as a Seconda, Mary Berchtold now lives in Central Switzerland. After completing her apprenticeship in retail, she gradually advanced her education in the commercial field — including qualifications as an Executive Assistant and HR Specialist with a federal diploma, along with various additional certifications. Mary is multilingual (German, English, Italian, French, Spanish) and brings many years of experience in Human Resource Management, having worked as an HR Business Partner, HR Consultant, and Head of HR across different industries and regions. In these roles, she was responsible for up to 200 employees and held regional HR responsibility for multiple sites in German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. Mary also has around ten years of entrepreneurial experience in recruitment, outplacement, coaching, and mediation. Her focus areas include recruitment, leadership consulting, annual planning, performance management, and the implementation of HR policies and projects. Additional key areas of expertise include the supervision of apprentices, collaboration with social partners, and supporting change processes and initiatives. With Stellenwerk since November 2025.
